South Africa Update

Hi Everyone
I think generally, I would be prepared to say my job is quite easy, I enjoy what I do and doing something you enjoy makes life way way easier.
However; This trip has so far been quite hectic. I had, this morning my first long sleep without setting my alarm at some unearthly hour to get yet another flight.
Going on stage almost half asleep isn't easy, especially when you have to concentrate on singing in tune. Quite simply we have been worked to the bone, with media events taking place before and after our shows, but this is what we do, and if it helps sell tickets and make a prospective audience aware, then so be it.

We have a great team down here in South Africa in the form of Lefra Productions, Frans, Charl and Sean have mede tremendous efforts to make things run smoothly and I think for the first time last night, they finally got to relax and they broke open the Tequlla bottle . . . . I didn't join in but it was great to see everyone joining in the salt and the lemon !

Today we have a day off, having done four shows in four days and venturing to Namibia.
Port Elizibeth feels somewhat very English especially on the seafront.
We have a wonderful hotel, but today I enjoyed doing very little . . . A walk out, cup of tea in my room, a bit of TV and a long soak in the bath. I even had a bitof a practice on my guitar and added another verse to a song I'm currently writng. Tonight I will watch English football on TV and probably have another steak . . . and can they do steaks in SA? . . . you bet your life . . . 500 gram ones !!!

We have to go back to J'burg on Wednesday to attack some more media work and prepare for two nights at the Big Top Arena.

Just another little story to share with you. . . . . . On our arrival to SA we had seven pieces of luggage missing including my effects pedal ad wireless systems, but this morning some guys in Namibia rang our tour manager on their satalite to let him know they had our missing items and they will return then to Jo'burg in time for our shows there. How does luggage end up going where it is just not meant to go?
