As 2026 approaches, he hopes to continue to build on the popularity that he has created.

It’s clear, that ‘Mick McConnell & Blue Thunder’ are creating quite a stir on the UK Blues circuit. Their headline shows at some of the best Blues venues in the UK, underline the fact that he has been accepted into what is a quite a tough market, in this genre of music.

At the beginning of this year, Mick was invited to the play the ‘Winter Blues Weekender’, an event that featured some of the hottest UK Blues acts over three days. 

He was also invited to the UK’s biggest blues festival that takes place in Blackpool, not on the emerging stage, but the ‘main’ stage! He has just confirmed that he will play the ‘Looe Blues Festival’ at the end of the year and another full UK-wide Tour is also confirmed for October and November 2026 - an 18 date tour that takes him to some of the best blues music venues that the UK have to offer; such as ‘The Tuesday Night Music Club’ in London, ‘Barnoldswick Music and Arts’ centre in the north of England and ‘The Clutha’ in Glasgow, Scotland.

There is also a new album in the offering, due out in October 2026 and some of the new material has already been showcased during recent live shows and received with exceptional positivity.
